The Sigma Beta Club of Greater Durham participated in wrapping gifts for the Delta Zeta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. annual Angel Tree program.
The Sigma Beta Club of Greater Durham participated in the MLK Million Meals Packing event hosted by Duke School. The goal is to pack over 100,000 meals for the Interfaith Food Shuttle and their partnering organizations.
The Sigma Beta Club of Greater Durham participated in the Thanksgiving Feed-A-Family program partnering with the Delta Zeta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc, the Eta Beta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., CAARE Inc., and the McNair Harris Crescent Foundation. We were able to provide full Thanksgiving meals for over 300 families in the Durham, NC community.
The Sigma Beta Club of Greater Durham participated in the annual Trunk or Treat event in partnership with the Delta Zeta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. The Sigma Beta Club bagged candy for the younger children, helped distribute the candy, and helped volunteers to stay supplied with goodies throughout the event.
The Sigma Beta Club of Greater Durham visited the International African American Museum in Charleston, SC as part of our annual Black History Month programming. The trip was an educational experience for all the Club members.

The Sigma Beta Club of Greater Durham was blessed to safely travel to Washington D.C. and take the young men to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture as part of our Black History Month activities.
The Sigma Beta Club Chapter commemorated Black History Month by participating in a visit to the International Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro, NC. The informative trip was a great way to learn an important piece of their history!
The Sigma Beta Club Chapter has started a Sigma Beta Club Book Club. We meet on Tuesdays for tutoring and book club discussions. So far, the Sigma Beta Club has completed "The Stars Beneath Our Feet" by David Barclay Moore and "Black Boy Joy: 17 Stories Celebrating Black Boyhood" by Kwame Mbalia. The Sigma Beta Club is currently reading "Black Brother, Black Brother" by Jewell Parker Rhodes.
Congratulations to the 3 Sigma Betas who won our Club's "No Zeroes" contest. Each of these three gentlemen finished the first quarter of school with no Zeroes on any of their assignments. The each received a Sigma Beta Club backpack and a cash reward from the advisors! Let's congratulate them and encourage more Club members to win next quarter!
The Sigma Beta Club of Greater Durham participated in a project to identify the lineage of family members in their family tree. They presented their findings to members of the Sigma Beta Club Advisory team.
The Brothers of the Delta Zeta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. hosted a fishing trip to teach the Sigma Beta Club members how to fish and promote healthy relationship building.
The Sigma Beta Club Chapter participate in learning about the importance of vehicle maintenance. Brother Darrick Selvy showed the club members the basics of changing a tire and identifying the components under the hood of a car, as a part of our basic life skills training.
